How Many Fillers Does Bleach Have?

Bleach ended its run in 2012 with a total of 366 episodes. The anime adapted nearly the whole manga, with the exception of the “Thousand-Year Blood War” storyline, but it was recently announced that even this story would get its own anime treatment.

As already said, out of the 366 episodes, Bleach has a reported total of 163 filler episodes, which is a very high 45% of filler material (nearly half the show!). Most of these episodes belong to the five filler arcs, but there are also individual episodes or groups of episodes that are filler content.

Is It Worth Watching Bleach Fillers?

Fillers take up almost half of the whole Bleach anime so you’ll certainly wonder whether it’s worth it to spend so much time watching unrelated material that doesn’t really add much to the main story. Well, if you ask the fans, Bleach‘s fillers aren’t really that good, or they’re at least significantly worse than the canon narrative. If you want to perceive the whole story, you should certainly watch everything, but if you’re wondering whether the fillers are worth it – they’re not.
